In April, 2007, Lupatech S.A. followed Cordoaria São Leopoldo S.A. in the business of manufacturing and commercializing polyester ropes for anchoring platforms and other such floating units, leading to the creation of Cordoaria São Leopoldo Offshore. However, in November 2008, the company changed its trade name to Lupatech CSL, becoming an affiliate of the Lupatech Group.

Lupatech CSL is proud to employ genuinely Brazilian technology, with high quality standards and renowned expertise in the manufacture and homologation of polyester anchoring ropes for deep and ultra deep waters.
Another highlight is the company’s elevated production capacity, manufacturing more than 7,000 tons of polyester thread per year.

The CSL unit is part of a long history that began in 1929 with the creation of Cordoaria São Leopoldo, which was initially dedicated to the manufacture of rope using natural fibers, such as cotton, flax, hemp and sisal.

Nowadays, Lupatech CSL polyester ropes represent more than 90% of the lines anchored by Petrobras in the Campos Basin, adding up to a total 800 km of installed polyester ropes. Furthermore, this noteworthy product is also present in the Gulf of Mexico and on the West Coast of Africa.
